What Is Not Allowed

We do not tolerate content or behavior that undermines our principles or harms our community. Violations may result in content removal, reduced visibility, account restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination—actions we take at our sole discretion, with or without notice. We review reports promptly and may act proactively based on our systems, user feedback, or legal requirements.

The categories below are illustrative and not exhaustive. We reserve the right to address any content or conduct we determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, to be inappropriate, harmful, contrary to the spirit of our community, or in violation of applicable laws worldwide.

2. Violence, Gore, and Harmful or Graphic Content

Content that promotes, glorifies, or depicts extreme harm is prohibited, including:

• Graphic violence, blood, dismemberment, or torture (real, staged, artistic, or illustrated).
• Incitement to violence, threats, or calls to harm individuals or groups.
• Self-harm, suicide promotion, or detailed instructions for dangerous acts.
• Dangerous challenges, pranks, or stunts that risk serious injury.

Consequence: Content removal; repeated or severe violations lead to account suspension or ban.

3. Adult Content, Nudity, and Sexual Material

Gift.me is all about that fun, vibrant energy. Revealing clothing (such as bikinis or swimwear), tasteful sensuality, and light-hearted playful moments are totally welcome and part of what makes it exciting. However, we prohibit explicit or overt adult content, including:

• Nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit acts (real, simulated, artistic, illustrated, or AI-generated).
• Sexual solicitation, offers of services, or content that crosses into explicit territory.
• Fetish, kink, or overly erotic material.

We trust our community to keep things tasteful and playful—think engaging and fun, not explicit.

Consequence: Content removal; repeated violations may lead to account restrictions or termination.

4. Hate Speech, Discrimination, and Harassment

We do not allow content that attacks, dehumanizes, or discriminates against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics. This includes:

• Racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or religious intolerance.
• Slurs, stereotypes, or calls for exclusion based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, disability, or age.
• Bullying, trolling, or coordinated harassment targeting specific users.
• Doxxing: Sharing private personal information (addresses, phone numbers, financial details) without explicit consent.

Consequence: Content removal and potential account restrictions; severe or repeated cases result in permanent bans.

5. Illegal Activities and Prohibited Behavior

Gift.me prohibits content or transactions involving illegal or harmful activities. This applies to posts, comments, gifting features, and direct messages. Examples include:

• Promotion or facilitation of drugs, firearms, explosives, or human trafficking.
• Scams, fraud, phishing, pyramid schemes, or any deceptive practices.

Consequence: Account termination and potential referral to law enforcement.

6. Gifting, Transactions, and Responsible Behavior

Gift.me is built around making gifting fun, seamless, and effortless—whether you're buying, sending, or receiving. All users must act responsibly and in good faith. This section is especially important:

For Buyers (Gifters):

• Be rational and responsible. Only gift what you can genuinely afford and intend to send.
• Avoid "bad chargebacks" or filing disputes for invalid reasons (e.g., buyer's remorse, changing your mind after delivery, or "friendly fraud").
• Any pattern of invalid chargebacks or abuse of payment systems will result in immediate suspension or termination.

For Recipients:

• Behave appropriately and in good faith. Do not manipulate others into sending gifts (e.g., encouraging gifts then immediately blocking the buyer, ghosting, or otherwise acting in bad faith).
• Do not falsely claim non-delivery or other issues when the gift has been successfully sent and received.
• "Friendly fraud" or similar deceptive behavior regarding gifts will result in immediate suspension or termination.

General Rules for All Gifting:

• All gifting must comply with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, including any gifting-specific provisions.
• Users agree to abide by all platform rules related to payments, deliveries, and dispute resolution.
• Any abuse of the gifting system (e.g., coordinated manipulation, repeated bad-faith claims) may lead to permanent account termination.

Forfeiture of Funds: Suspensions or terminations resulting from conduct violations relating to gifting (including bad chargebacks, friendly fraud, manipulation, or other bad-faith behavior) may result in the forfeiture of all applicable funds, account balances, pending gifts, transaction proceeds, credits, rewards, or any other monetary value associated with the account.

Consequence for Violations: Immediate suspension or termination of the account. Appeals are available but may require proof of good faith and, in cases involving financial loss, reimbursement as a condition of reinstatement. Forfeited funds will not be restored unless the appeal is fully successful and demonstrates no violation occurred.

7. Spam, Bots, Manipulation, and Inauthentic Behavior

We protect the integrity of our platform. Prohibited actions include:

• Using bots, scripts, or automation for likes, follows, comments, views, or gifting activity.
• Creating fake accounts, impersonation, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
• Spam: Unsolicited commercial messages, repetitive posting, or flooding feeds.
• Artificial engagement farming or misleading activity.

Consequence: Immediate removal of content; accounts using automation tools face permanent suspension.

8. Misinformation and Deceptive Practices

Content that spreads harmful falsehoods or deceives users is not permitted, including:

• Deliberate misinformation about health, events, or public safety that could cause real-world harm.
• Deepfakes, manipulated media, or unlabeled AI-generated content presented as real.
• False claims in profiles, posts, or gifting interactions.

Consequence: Content labeling or removal; repeated violations lead to account limits or bans.

9. Intellectual Property Violations

Respect creators' rights. Do not post:

• Copyrighted material (photos, videos, music, designs) without authorization.
• Content that infringes trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property.

We respond to valid DMCA and similar notices promptly.

Consequence: Content removal; repeat infringers' accounts terminated.

10. Privacy Violations and Security Threats

Protect personal boundaries. Banned content includes:

• Unauthorized sharing of private conversations, images, or data.
• Attempts to hack, phish, or compromise accounts.
• Malware links or security threats.

Consequence: Immediate action, including account disablement.

Enforcement and Appeals

We use a combination of technology, human review, and community reports to enforce these Guidelines. Factors we consider include severity, intent, context, and patterns of behavior—especially in gifting disputes.

Possible Actions

(at our sole discretion):

• Warning or content removal.
• Temporary restrictions (e.g., limited posting or gifting).
• Account suspension.
• Permanent termination.
• Reporting to authorities where appropriate.
• For gifting-related violations, forfeiture of funds as described above.

We may act without prior notice if we believe immediate action is necessary to protect the community or comply with law. Our decisions are final.

If you believe we've made an error, you may appeal through our in-app process within 30 days. Appeals for gifting-related terminations may require proof of good faith and, in cases of financial loss to the platform, reimbursement as a condition of reinstatement.

Reporting Violations

Help us keep Gift.me amazing. Report content via the "Report" button on posts, profiles, messages, or gifts. Provide as much detail as possible. We investigate all credible reports confidentially.

Your Responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for your content and activities.
• Ensure all content and gifting complies with these Guidelines and local laws.
• Do not encourage or assist violations.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines to reflect evolving community needs, legal requirements, or platform features. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material updates.

Additional Legal Protections and Disclaimers

These Community Guidelines are designed to minimize risks and maximize protections for Gift.me, our users, and our operations, in full compliance with applicable laws worldwide, including but not limited to those in the United States, European Union, and other jurisdictions.

Reservation of Rights

We reserve the absolute and unrestricted right to:

• Remove, restrict, or modify any content at any time, for any reason or no reason.
• Suspend, terminate, or restrict any account or user access, without notice or liability.
• Interpret and enforce these Guidelines in our sole and absolute discretion.
• Take any other action we deem necessary to protect the platform, its users, or our interests.

No Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gift.me, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any damages arising from user content, enforcement actions, platform unavailability, or any other use of the service. We provide the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gift.me from any claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Guidelines, your content, your gifting activity, or your use of the service.

User-Generated Content License: By posting content, you grant Gift.me a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display it in connection with the platform and our business.

Compliance with Laws: While we strive to comply with all applicable laws, these Guidelines may be more restrictive. Content legal in one country may still be removed if it violates our standards or risks harm elsewhere. Users must ensure their content does not violate laws in any jurisdiction where it may be accessed.

These provisions are intended to be as broad and protective as legally possible. If any part is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in full effect.
